C/R: Agona Nyarkrom Omanhene advocates responsible parenting
The Agona Nyarkrom Traditional Area last Friday held its state council meeting with key stakeholders, divisional heads, and community members in attendance.
In his welcome address, Okofo Okatakyi Nyarko Eku X commended the security agencies for their commitment to maintaining peace and security in the area.
He also urged journalists and media practitioners to be responsible by conducting thorough investigations and verifying facts before publishing allegations that affect individuals or the community.
On child upbringing, Okofo advised parents to give their children proper guidance and moral training.
“Children are our treasure for the future. We must raise them well so you do not live to regret it later,” he stated.
He stressed the need to protect children during their school-going years and to help them build confidence by making education a priority. Okofo also emphasized vocational and professional training, stating:
“Every child should acquire a skill or a profession. There is no doubt you will not lack if you have working experience and can use your hands to work,” he stated.
On chieftaincy matters, Okofo Okatakyi Nyarko Eku X noted that many disputes in the area stem from failing to identify the rightful successor.
“The opportunity to serve the stool does not automatically make one a royal or the legitimate successor,” he clarified.
He concluded by calling for unity among all citizens, saying:
“We must stand together for one future and for the progress of Agonaman,” he stressed.
