Ghana School of Law delays start of examinations over Accra heavy flooding
The Ghana School of Law has postponed the commencement of examinations scheduled for Monday, June 29, following heavy rainfall and widespread flooding across parts of Accra, assuring students that no one will be disadvantaged by delays caused by the weather.
In a notice issued to students, management said the decision was reached after monitoring the weather situation for two hours and consulting the Chair of the Independent Examinations Committee (IEC).
The school emphasised that the safety of students remains its foremost priority and cautioned against attempting to travel through flooded roads to the examination centre.
“Your safety is our highest priority. No student should risk their life or personal safety by attempting to travel through heavy rain or floodwaters to the Examination Centre,” the statement said.
Management assured students that the disruption would not affect their academic standing.
“No student will be disadvantaged. Students will not be penalized or disadvantaged in any way with respect to today’s examinations due to this Act of God,” the notice stated.
The school explained that examinations would only begin after conditions were considered safe for students to travel.
“Examinations will not commence until it is safe to travel. The start of any examination today will be delayed until conditions are considered safe for students to make their way to the Examination Centre,” it said.
It further indicated that should examinations proceed later in the day, sufficient time would be allowed after the rains and flooding had subsided to enable all students to arrive safely.
Students have been advised to monitor their official email accounts, telephone messages, WhatsApp, as well as the Ghana School of Law's official website and social media platforms for updates on the revised examination timetable.
