Emmanuel Adzome launches renewed bid for NDC National Executive Committee
Veteran grassroots organiser and Secretary of the Kabore Branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ho Central Constituency, Emmanuel Ewoenam Yao Adzome, has officially launched a renewed bid for a position on the party's National Executive Committee (NEC) ahead of the 2026 National Delegates Congress.
Running under the campaign banner "TEAM EMMA 4 NEC," Adzome is anchoring his campaign on the themes of grassroots strength, proven leadership, and a renewed vision for the party.
Popularly known as "Cde. EMMA," Adzome traces his political roots to Hohoe but has served the party in both Obuasi East and Ho Central since 2008. Throughout the years, he has remained active across the Volta, Oti, and Ashanti regions, building what he describes as bridges of unity and service within the party.
His political journey spans nearly two decades of active service. Since 2008, he has continuously served in various branch executive positions, participated in branch election and strategic committees, and held leadership roles within the Tertiary Education Institutions Network (TEIN). He served as a member of the campaign committee and Communication Officer at Ho Technical University and later as Organizer of the TEIN chapter at All Nations University in the Eastern Region.
Adzome previously contested for the position of NEC Member at the party's 2022 National Delegates Congress and says the experience has strengthened his resolve to secure victory in 2026.
Beyond party politics, he brings 12 years of experience in local governance as a three term Assembly Member. During that period, he served on the Tourism, Works, Development, Sanitation, and Social Services Committees, while also chairing the Sanitation and Tourism Committees for two terms. He additionally served on the Council Development and Finance Committees and later chaired both the Development Committee and the Sub Metro Council.
His campaign presents him as a committed grassroots mobiliser with extensive experience in Obuasi, Hohoe, and Ho Central. It also highlights his record as a youth and student leader through TEIN, as well as his experience in local governance, particularly in sanitation, tourism, infrastructure, development, and social services. The campaign further describes him as a leader trusted by communities for transparent and service driven leadership.
Adzome says his vision for the National Executive Committee is built on resilience, grassroots empowerment, credible governance, and party unity. He has pledged to strengthen branch structures, deepen youth participation in party activities, draw on his local government experience to support informed decision making, and promote his unifying message of "Join EMMA as One."
Appealing directly to delegates, Adzome described himself as a leader "who has walked with the grassroots, not above them," adding that his years of service demonstrate his commitment to credible leadership and good governance. He also portrayed himself as a resilient and unifying figure dedicated to service, transparency, and collective empowerment.
Campaigning under the slogan, "From Grassroots to NEC Service, Strength, Victory 2026," Adzome is urging delegates to support his bid, arguing that his extensive grassroots experience, youth leadership credentials, and local government record make him well-positioned to represent the Volta Region on the NDC's National Executive Committee.
