NDC is a useless govt – Miracles Aboagye fumes

Former Presidential Staffer Dennis Miracles Aboagye

Former Presidential Staffer Dennis Miracles Aboagye has criticised the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government's approach to infrastructure development, questioning what he describes as inconsistencies in its priorities.

In a social media post, Aboagye contrasted the government's position on the construction of the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) Agenda 111 hospitals with its plans to build 261 modern markets across the country under the 24 Hour Economy policy.

According to him, the government's argument that constructing 111 hospitals simultaneously was impractical appears inconsistent with its decision to embark on a nationwide market construction programme.

“This useless NDC government says it doesn’t make sense to build 111 hospitals at once, but yeah, they are building 261 Markets at once… Read it again!!!!” he wrote.

His comments come as the NDC administration rolls out its flagship 24 Hour Economy initiative, which includes plans to establish modern multipurpose markets in all 261 districts nationwide.

The market project, being implemented through the Ministry of Local Government, is intended to promote round the clock commercial activity and expand economic opportunities at the local level.

Government officials say the facilities will go beyond traditional trading spaces and will incorporate essential amenities such as security posts, daycare centres and primary healthcare units to support traders and consumers.

The initiative forms part of broader efforts by the government to stimulate economic growth, create jobs and strengthen local commerce through strategic infrastructure investment.

Aboagye's remarks add to the ongoing political debate over the government's development agenda, with competing views emerging over the allocation of resources and the prioritisation of key national projects.
