ACFO II Semey Mawuko bows out after 37 years in GNFS

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has honoured Assistant Chief Fire Officer II (ACFO II) Semey Anthony Mawuko after 37 years of dedicated service to the nation.

The farewell ceremony brought together senior management of the Service, led by Chief Fire Officer Daniella Mawusi Ntow Sapong, to celebrate a career described as exemplary and impactful.

ACFO II Mawuko retired after serving in multiple strategic roles across logistics, operations and technical services within the Service.

"Tributes highlighted his significant contributions to maintenance, transport management and technical services, which greatly strengthened the operational efficiency of the Service," the GNFS stated in part of a news release.

Throughout his career, he rose steadily through the ranks after joining the Service on February 2, 1989, demonstrating discipline, professionalism and commitment.

He previously served as Logistics Officer, Municipal Fire Commander for Ashaiman, Assistant Director of Services, and later Assistant Director of Maintenance at the National Headquarters before his retirement.

The Service also noted his international exposure through technical training and inspections in Poland and the United States, which contributed to his professional development.

Beyond his administrative duties, ACFO II Mawuko distinguished himself as a mentor and trainer, playing a key role in emergency driving instruction, driver assessment and specialised firefighting equipment training.

"His legacy was widely described as one of integrity, dedication and capacity building," the statement noted.

In his farewell remarks, he expressed gratitude to management and colleagues for their support throughout his career and pledged to continue contributing to the Service in retirement as an ambassador.

Management of the GNFS commended his loyalty and commitment, wishing him good health and fulfilment in his post-service life.
