Boakye Agyarko is best suited to lead NPP as National Chairman – Kpandai MP
The Member of Parliament for Kpandai, Matthew Nyindam, has thrown his support behind former Energy Minister Boakye Kyeremateng Agyarko, describing him as the most suitable candidate to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as National Chairman.
The NPP’s reorganisation timeline began with membership registration at polling stations from March 1 to March 31.
Verification followed from April 1 to April 14, followed by polling station elections from May 10 to May 16.
Electoral area elections wwre slated for June, constituency elections in July, regional and branch elections are in August, with the national delegates conference fixed for September 18 to September 20.
The party says the restructuring process is aimed at rebuilding cohesion and strengthening the party’s electoral machinery following its 2024 defeat.
In a social media post on Friday, June 19, Mr. Nyindam said the party’s current circumstances require a unifying figure capable of restoring internal unity and focus.
“In these trying times of the New Patriotic Party, the best person to lead the party at the national level is Boakye Agyarko,” he stated.
He further stressed that the party cannot afford another electoral setback in 2028, urging members to rally behind the former minister.
“The NPP cannot afford to lose the 2028 election. Let’s come together and support Hon Boakye for a stronger front,” he stated.
Mr. Nyindam also indicated that he and fellow MP, Alhassan Tampuli, are firmly behind Mr. Agyarko’s bid.
Meanwhile, the endorsement comes after Boakye Agyarko met NPP Northern Regional Council of Elders and Patrons in his ongoing engagements to secure support for his bid.
