Accra Pilgrims Expected to Begin Return Journey from Saudi Arabia on June 19

The airlift of Ghanaian pilgrims returning from the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage is expected to commence on Friday, June 19, according to an update from the Pilgrims Affairs Office of Ghana (PAOG).

In a statement issued by Mohammed Amin Lamptey, Director of Communications at PAOG, preparations for the first return flight to Accra are currently underway, with authorities working to finalize the necessary arrangements for the departure of pilgrims from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Communications Directorate indicated that the first batch of pilgrims is expected to be airlifted on Friday, barring any unforeseen circumstances that may affect the travel schedule.

The announcement has been welcomed by pilgrims and their families, many of whom have been awaiting details regarding the return journey following the successful completion of the annual Hajj rites in the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah.

PAOG has assured pilgrims that further updates and flight information will be communicated through official channels as arrangements progress.

Authorities have urged pilgrims to remain attentive to official announcements and cooperate with travel coordinators to ensure a smooth and orderly return to Ghana.
