Teacher who bonked a female student at Bole SHS science laboratory interdicted
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has interdicted a teacher of Bole Senior High School in the Savannah Region over an alleged sexual relationship with a student.
The decision follows the circulation of a video on social media purportedly showing the teacher involved in sexual misconduct with the student.
GES said it has commenced investigations into the matter and has taken administrative action against the teacher pending the outcome of the probe.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, June 16, the Service said, “Management has initiated investigations into the matter. Pending the outcome of the investigations, Management directs that the teacher is interdicted in accordance with GES rules and regulations."
According to GES, the action is intended to ensure a fair investigation and uphold professional standards within the education sector.
The Service stressed that it does not condone inappropriate relationships between teachers and students and warned staff to adhere strictly to professional ethics.
“Management strongly condemns all forms of amorous relationships between teachers and students. The Service reiterates its zero-tolerance towards sexual misconduct and cautions all staff to uphold the highest standards of professional ethics and conduct at all times,” the statement added.
GES further assured the public that the welfare and safety of students remain a priority and indicated that appropriate disciplinary and legal action would be taken against anyone found culpable.
