NDC deepens grassroots reorganization in South Dayi with Wegbe Camp/Wawase Engagement
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has stepped up its grassroots mobilization efforts in the Volta Region, with the Wegbe Camp/Wawase Branch in the South Dayi Constituency holding a well-attended reorganization meeting on Sunday across the two communities.
The meetings, chaired by Branch Chairman Mr. Eric Buame and supported by Branch Secretary Mr. Moses Asafo, brought together a large number of party supporters in both Wegbe Camp and Wegbe Wawase. The turnout was described as a strong indication of renewed unity and commitment at the base of the party.
According to a statement issued on Wednesday by NDC Constituency Communications Officer Mr. Jonas Anyadi and Deputy Communications Officer Mr. Emmanuel Amoah, the gathering focused on two key agenda items: branch reorganization and the presentation of logistics support to members. The objectives, they said, were successfully achieved as executives and members agreed on measures to strengthen operations ahead of 2028.
As part of efforts to boost grassroots economic activity, the branch also unveiled a tricycle and several bags of fertilizer donated by South Dayi Member of Parliament and Majority Chief Whip, Mr. Rockson-Nelson Kwami Etse Dafeamekpor.
The items were received by branch leadership led by Mr. Buame. The presentation was marked by a celebratory atmosphere, with traditional leaders and community elders expressing appreciation to the MP, describing the gesture as timely recognition of the branch’s dedication and hard work.
The event also saw the participation of the South Dayi District Chief Executive, Mr. Courage Kwame Kokroko, whose presence was seen as reinforcing cooperation between government, Parliament, and the grassroots party structure.
Constituency executives were also acknowledged for their continued support despite competing engagements within the party.
Notable figures present included Mr. John Abotsi, Constituency Treasurer and Assembly Member for Tongor-Dzemeni West, and Mr. Cephas Tsini, Branch Organizer for Wegbe-Kpalime Branch and Assembly Member for the Wegbe-Kpalime Electoral Area.
The exercise forms part of a wider NDC strategy aimed at strengthening branch structures, rewarding loyal members, and linking party activities to livelihood support at the community level.
With reorganization efforts ongoing and logistics support in place, the branch says it is now better positioned to enhance voter education, community engagement, and turnout operations ahead of future elections.
A branch executive summed up the mood at the meeting, saying: “We are not just meeting; we are organizing for victory. The support from Mr. Dafeamekpor and Mr. Kokroko shows the link between representation and results at the grassroots. We aim higher together.”
