The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has dispatched a team of special investigators and intelligence officers from Accra to Cape Coast to support ongoing investigations into the death of a University of Cape Coast (UCC) student, Innocentia Avinu.

The deployment forms part of a broader operational strategy by the Ghana Police Service aimed at ensuring a comprehensive and coordinated investigation into the circumstances surrounding the student's death.

According to information available to Graphic Online, the team will work closely with the Central Regional Police Command to strengthen investigative efforts, gather critical evidence, and provide additional intelligence and technical support.

The Ghana Police Service has assured the bereaved family, the university community, and the public of its commitment to conducting a professional, transparent, and thorough investigation.

In a statement, the police said every effort would be made to establish the full facts surrounding the incident and ensure that the truth is uncovered.
