The High Court in Adenta has convicted the President of the Ghana Christian University College Rev. Dr. James Yamoah at Dodowa for contempt of court.
The court sentenced him to 14 days' imprisonment today, June 11, after finding him guilty of disobeying a court order by dismissing a lecturer who had initiated legal action against the university.
The lecturer had reportedly challenged the institution over the admission and graduation of students alleged to have been unqualified.
The court, presided over by His Lordship Kwame Gyamfi Osei, held that the dismissal constituted contempt of court, leading to the conviction and custodial sentence.
