808 presidential staffers on payroll as Parliament receives annual staffing report
The Presidency has presented its annual staffing report to Parliament, disclosing that the Office of the President had a total workforce of 808 employees as of December 31, 2025.
Submitted in line with Section 11 of the Presidential Office Act, 1993 (Act 463), the report provides a detailed account of personnel serving at the Presidency during the 2025 calendar year, including political appointees and public sector staff assigned to the Office of the President.
According to the document, the Presidency's workforce comprises 233 political appointees and 575 civil servants and other public officers, bringing the total staff strength to 808.
The report covers the period from January 1 to December 31, 2025, and outlines the number of employees engaged at the Presidency, their positions, grades, and the categories under which they serve.
Its submission forms part of the Presidency's statutory obligation to account annually to Parliament on the composition of its staff.
The document, which has been laid before Parliament, contains the names, designations, and grades of personnel serving at the Office of the President.
Under the political administration structure, a total of 233 officials serve in various capacities.
This category includes four Ministers of State at the Presidency namely Felix Kwakye Ofosu, responsible for Government Communications; Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum, in charge of Special Initiatives; Seidu Issifu, responsible for Climate Change and Sustainability; and Lydia Lamisi Akanvariba, overseeing Public Sector Reform.
The report also lists 39 political staffers, including key officials such as Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, Executive Secretary Dr Callistus Mahama, presidential advisers, and aides.
In addition, 190 other political appointees serve in various roles, including technical coordinators, legal advisers attached to ministries, regional political coordinators, executive assistants, and political drivers.
The annual report provides Parliament with a comprehensive overview of the staffing structure at the Presidency and serves as part of efforts to ensure transparency and accountability in public administration.
