Ho Central NDC Vice Chair hopeful extends support to Ho Leprosarium residents

What usually is a day of personal celebration became a day of compassion and community service as the Regional Coordinator of Minerals Development Fund Volta and Oti Mrs. Sena Setordzi Dorvlo marked her birthday by reaching out to vulnerable groups at the Ho Leprosarium, reaffirming her commitment to supporting the less privileged and advocating for women’s empowerment in the Ho Municipality.

Mrs. Setordzi who is currently aspiring for the Vice Chairperson's position in the Ho Central National Democratic Congress (NDC) said her desire has always been to use her birthday as an opportunity to give back to society, particularly to people who are often marginalized and forgotten.

According to her, vulnerable groups such as persons affected by leprosy, orphans, widows, prisoners, and children living with disabilities deserve love, care, and inclusion.

Speaking during the outreach programme, she noted that many people in society continue to neglect such groups, leaving them to struggle without adequate support. She emphasized that her mission is to make them feel accepted and valued within their communities.

Mrs. Setordzi revealed that this is not the first time she has undertaken such charitable activities. She recounted previous visits to widows, correctional facilities, and other vulnerable groups, describing the experiences as fulfilling and inspiring.

This year's celebration focused on supporting children who are mentally and physically challenged. She described the opportunity to assist them as a dream come true and pledged to continue dedicating her birthday celebrations to humanitarian causes.

Beyond her personal charity work, Mrs. Setordzi Dorvlo highlighted the activities of the Dynamic Diamond Ladies, a women’s group dedicated to promoting the welfare and empowerment of women in the community.

According to her, the organization supports women through employment opportunities, emotional support, and entrepreneurship initiatives aimed at improving livelihoods. She explained that members are often assisted with start-up capital to establish small businesses and generate sustainable sources of income.

She stressed that empowering women economically contributes significantly to community development and helps families achieve financial stability.

She called for unity and collective effort in building a society where vulnerable groups are cared for, women are empowered, and communities enjoy improved infrastructure and opportunities for growth.
