Disregard news of ministerial reshuffle — NDC urges Ghanaians
The ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has urged Ghanaians to disregard reports suggesting that President John Dramani Mahama has carried out a ministerial reshuffle, describing the information as false.
The clarification follows the circulation of a purported circular allegedly issued by the Office of the President, which claimed that changes had been made to the composition of the government.
The document was widely shared across social media platforms on Saturday, June 6, sparking public discussion about a possible reshuffle.
However, in a statement dated June 6, 2026, and signed by Deputy National Communication Officer Godwin Ako Gunn, the party dismissed the reports and cautioned the public against spreading unverified information.
“As we all strive to curb the menace of deliberate misinformation, some individuals will stop at nothing to poison the atmosphere,” the statement read in part.
The NDC stressed that any official communication regarding government decisions should be verified through the appropriate channels.
“The official spokesperson for this administration is Hon. Felix Kwakye Ofosu. Kindly verify any such information through his official channels before sharing it,” the party stated.
The statement further reminded the public of the legal consequences associated with the dissemination of false information, noting that the Cyber Security Act could have serious implications for those who engage in irresponsible communication.
