Four injured in STC Bus, taxi collision at Konongo Akrantiebesa

Four people sustained injuries of varying severity following a road accident involving an STC bus and a Kia Picanto taxi at Konongo Akrantiebesa on Friday, June 5.

Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) at the Konongo-Odumasi Fire Station responded promptly to the scene and carried out a rescue operation after one victim was trapped inside the badly damaged taxi.

According to the GNFS, the collision caused extensive damage to both vehicles, with the Kia Picanto suffering severe impact damage, including a completely destroyed engine compartment.

Before emergency responders arrived, bystanders had already rescued three of the injured victims and transported them to Steward Hospital for medical attention.

Firefighters subsequently focused on freeing the fourth victim, who was still trapped in the wreckage. The team successfully extricated him and ensured he was taken to the Asante Akyem Central Hospital for treatment.

The Ghana National Fire Service confirmed that all four occupants involved in the crash sustained injuries, with no fatalities reported.
