View from the MAGA Psychiatric Ward - Part 14

Cable News Network’s 10pm (New York Time) flagship or primetime current affairs program titled “CNN NewsNight With Abby Phillip” is unquestionably one of a kind in its temporal slot or scheduled time on any weeknight hereabouts within the United States of America, except for its opening brand signature, in which the lambent-witted 37-year-old Harvard University-educated host and expert in American Government and Politics, Ms. Abigail Daniella Phillip sedately declares: “Americans with Different Opinions Aren’t Talking to Each Other, But Here, They Do,” a declaration which the present author finds to be rather a little inaccurate or slightly exaggerated.

This increasingly familiar and, some would even say, mundane declaration is not quite accurate because what is actually the standard practice here in America’s political-media mainstream is the fact that citizens and residents with divergent political opinions and viewpoints do, in fact, talk to each other pretty much on a daily basis exccpt that they often do so rudely and intemperately or churlishly by snapping at each other in what may be aptly described or characterized as “Talking At Each Other.”

Which is directly and precisely why I have decided to provide the young and mercurially articulate Afro-Trinidadian-Descended ( by her own self-description) and bona fide American-born “NewsNight” host with the following far more accurate and practically more thematically reflective intro-descriptives from among which Abby could freely and voluntarily chose her pick, as it were. One such choice could be the following: “Americans With Different Opinions Are Often Rowdy And Verbally Combative to a Fault. But Right Here on ‘NewsNight,’ They Are Almost Always Cordial and Conciliatory.” Or better yet: “Americans with Different Opinions Are Often Hostile to Each Other Unnecessarily. But Here, on ‘News Night,’ They Calmly and Meaningfully Engage Each Other.”

Of course, equally creative and more captivating variations on the two preceding Intros could go on and on and on. But, of course, even as the Dear Reader could also have readily picked up the vibe right off the bat from the caption of this column, namely, “View from the MAGA Psychiatric Ward,” today’s conversation is really about what African American Philosopher, Public Intellectual, Democratic Socialist and the Holder of the Dietrich Bonhoeffer Chair at Union Theological Seminary, Columbia University, right here in New York City, Professor Cornel West, recently described on Ms. Phillip’s “NewsNight” program as the “Precipitous unraveling of American Democracy,” and the rancid stench of unspeakable Trumpian Corruption that flows from the same.

In this brief conversation, however, we spotlight the widely alleged dropping of the $10-Billion lawsuit launched against the US Internal Revenue Service (IRS), pertaining to the alleged leaking of the tax files or forms of a then Presidential Candidate Donald John Trump by a corporate insider at the IRS. A couple of days ago, as of this writing, CNN’s Mr. Anderson Cooper informed the viewers of his globally patronized program called “Anderson Cooper 360” that, in fact, the forensically established lone culprit of the leaked Trump-filed IRS Tax Forms or Documents had already been duly prosecuted and sentenced to a Five-Year Prison Term.

Now, what is especially fascinating in our present conversation, which none of the major media pundits appears to be interested in underscoring, regards the fact of “How We Got There,” as many an avid American media commentator or analyst is wont to say. Which was the fact that the then Presidential Candidate Donald John Trump had flatly and adamantly refused to release and/or make public his tax files, going back several years, as clearly established protocol officially required, even while also smugly bragging about always making sure that he “paid as little taxes as possible,” even well below what the law required of him, even while also drawing the maximum monetary and fiscal benefits from civil and social services as a bona fide citizen of the United States.

For those of our readers who may not have readily picked up any of the gist of the preceding sentence or two, the unvarnished drift here is that Mr. Trump seemed to be literally gloating over the fact that for years, if not decades, he had been cavalierly and criminally “Gaming The System,” that is, blatantly and nonchalantly shirking his civic responsibilities and thus having decidedly and effectively converted the 250-year-old Sovereign Democratic Republic of the United States of America into the practical equivalent of his personal piggybank.

Now, what the preceding observation means is that while the aforesaid IRS insider who, very likely out of an “epic fury” at this nationally infamous putative rascal’s thievish shenanigans, together with several of his business associates and cronies - several of whom had, in fact, been indicted and sentenced to various prison terms and punitive sanctions - breached the law by proverbially letting the metaphorical cat out of the bag, as it were, in reality, rather than throw the metaphorical book at the alleged leaker, the latter ought to have, in fact, rather been thrown a lavish party and “epically” celebrated and generously rewarded for such clearly Sisyphean grit or courage.

Instead, we have a veritable self-proclaimed scumbag and scam-artist and now-President Donald John Trump scandalously and bitterly and brassily complaining about his most ardent political opponents and implacable enemies having viciously and gratuitously “Weaponized” the democratic rule of law and justice as an invidious means of attaining their own personal goals and gains than jealously safeguarding the greater good of American Society. Which is downright and patently preposterous albeit absolutely not in the least flabbergasting, especially when one also reckons the fact that the forensically incontrovertible factual element of the “Enslavement” of the Seminal Continental African Creators of Modern American Civilization, and thus the Veritable Architects of the Greatest Contemporary Global Civilization, is also the “Constitutive Core” motor and machinery of the decidedly Fascist and the implacably primitive and the morally irredeemable Neo-Nazi Project and Program of the Trump-chaperoned Make America Great Again (MAGA) political and cultural Holocaust against African Americans and the totality of Non-Aryan and Non-White American Citizens.

But, of course, it is the downright scurrilous and the unspeakably lurid Blackmailing, actually “Whitemailing,” of the entire citizenry of the United States of America, under the guise and the ruse of the ONE-POINT-SEVEN-SEVEN-BILLION-DOLLAR SLUSH FUND for the most criminal elements of present-day American Society, and the morally heretical and blasphemous attempt to legislate and canonize the Trump Clan over and above the realm of human social and civic responsibility that ought to inspire our “Epic Fury” and “Midnight Sledge-Hammer” conniption and the near-certain possibility of the Second American Civil and Re-Warming Revolutionary War.
