Two arrested over armed robbery at Kwafokrom Goil filling station

The Eastern South Regional Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with an armed robbery incident at the Kwafokrom Goil Filling Station near Nsawam on Sunday, May 24, 2026.

The suspects, identified as Amos Boame and Collins Adjei, are currently in police custody assisting investigations. A third suspect, known only as Ashivie, is on the run and is being pursued by police for his alleged involvement.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, the police said several exhibits were retrieved from the suspects, including an Alder Tupal pump-action gun with serial number 245A-12944, an electronic shocker, a cutlass and a bulletproof vest.

According to the police, during the robbery the suspects shot a security guard and a pump attendant who had taken shelter in an office within the station.

The attackers reportedly made away with GH¢13,460 and assorted provisions whose total value is yet to be determined.

The police further indicated that a search at the scene led to the recovery of 19 spent cartridges and one live round of ammunition. The victims are said to be in stable condition.

The Command assured the public that efforts are ongoing to arrest the remaining suspect and any accomplices to face prosecution.

Residents have been urged to remain calm as police, in collaboration with management of the filling station, have intensified security measures to prevent similar incidents.
