Stop hiding behind sponsored platforms and make himself available for parliamentary probe into alleged gold losses — Oppong Nkrumah dares Sammy Gyamfi

New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Ofoase Ayirebi constituency, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has challenged GoldBod CEO Sammy Gyamfi to publicly support a parliamentary inquiry into alleged gold-related losses, intensifying the ongoing war of words between the two politicians.

Taking to Facebook on Sunday, May 10, 2026, Oppong Nkrumah accused the GoldBod CEO of avoiding scrutiny while engaging in public exchanges on social media and television.

“You claim to welcome a probe, yet you have been evading a Parliamentary investigation into the Gold losses of billions of cedis since March 27th,” Mr Oppong Nkrumah alleged.

According to him, the Majority side in Parliament has deliberately frustrated attempts to investigate the matter.

“Why have your majority members in Parliament been obstructing all the probes?” he questioned.

The Ofoase Ayirebi MP argued that the truth would only emerge through a formal parliamentary process where evidence could be examined openly.

“Your lies will be exposed if you are brave enough to appear under oath in a Parliamentary Inquiry where documents will be presented and scrutinized,” he wrote.

Mr Oppong Nkrumah further accused Mr Gyamfi of choosing media engagements over official accountability mechanisms.

“Since you are aware of the mess you have caused, you have chosen to evade official probes and hide behind sponsored platforms where you can have a field day,” he claimed.

He maintained that the Minority would continue pushing for the inquiry to proceed, insisting that Parliament remained the appropriate forum to resolve the controversy.

“If you are as confident of your case as your posts suggest, be the loudest voice in your party today demanding that the inquiry I initiated on March 27th be allowed to proceed. Then we will see who is telling the truth and who is lying,” he stated.
