Former Chief Justice Sophia Akuffo to be enstooled as Akuapem Mmrahene
Former Chief Justice of Ghana and former President of the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights, Justice Sophia Akuffo, is set to be enstooled as the Mmrahene of the Akuapem Traditional Area.
The historic enstoolment ceremony is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, May 20, at the Okuapehene Palace in Akropong Akuapem and is expected to attract dignitaries, traditional authorities and members of the Akuapem Traditional Council from across the country.
Activities for the ceremony will begin at Akuffo Fi, the ancestral home of the Akuffo family in Akropong Akuapem, before proceeding to the Okuapehene Palace for the main traditional rites during the Awukudae celebration.
As part of the customary process, Nana Abena Boafoa Akuffo will be formally presented to the Okuapehene, Oseadeeyo Kwasi Akuffo, ahead of her official enstoolment as Mmrahene.
