Ho Municipal Assembly hands over site for 24-hour economy market project at Titrinu
The Ho Municipal Assembly has officially handed over the site for the construction of the 24-Hour Economy Market at Titrinu to Georotche Company Ltd., marking the start of the much-anticipated project.
The ceremony signifies a key milestone in the Assembly’s efforts to boost commercial activity and stimulate economic growth within the municipality. Officials say the project is expected to transform trade operations and create new opportunities for residents.
According to the Assembly, the market is designed to support a 24-hour trading environment that will improve livelihoods and enhance convenience for traders and consumers in Ho and surrounding communities.
The Volta Regional Coordinating Council (VRCC) has on Thursday April 30, 2026 officially launched the 24-Hour Economy Market Project with the signing of contracts at a ceremony in Ho attended by the MCEs and the DCEs in the region.
The Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, signed the contracts on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama, marking the official commencement of the initiative. The project is scheduled to begin in May and will be rolled out across all eighteen Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs) in the Volta Region.
The Ho Assembly expressed confidence in Georotche Company Ltd.’s capacity to deliver the project efficiently and within the agreed timeframe. It stressed that timely completion is essential to realizing the intended benefits for the local economy.
Authorities believe the market will generate direct and indirect employment while providing a structured space for small and medium-scale businesses to thrive. They added that the initiative aligns with broader efforts to modernize infrastructure and promote sustainable economic development in the region.
The Ho Municipal Assembly said it looks forward to the successful completion of the project and urged all stakeholders to support its implementation for the benefit of the people of Ho and its environs.
