NACOC Eastern Regional Commander pays courtesy call on Upper West Akim DCE
The Eastern Regional Commander of the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC), PNCO Philomina Obenewaa Sackar, on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, paid a courtesy call on the Upper West Akim District Chief Executive, Rebecca Chissah, at Adeiso.
The visit was to formally introduce herself as Regional Commander and to strengthen collaboration between NACOC and the District Assembly in tackling drug-related activities in the area.
During the meeting, the Regional Commander expressed appreciation to the Assembly for allocating office space to the newly established district command. She stressed that addressing drug abuse requires sustained cooperation between NACOC and local authorities.
In her response, the DCE commended the Regional Commander for her initiative and recognised the important role NACOC plays in combating drug abuse.
Madam Chissah assured that the Assembly would provide permanent office accommodation for the Commission once its new office complex is completed to support the establishment of a fully functional district command.
She also pledged to explore additional ways of supporting and equipping NACOC in its efforts to curb drug-related offences in the district.
The meeting ended with a shared commitment to promoting a safer, drug-free environment for residents of Upper West Akim.
