Big Push: Eastern Corridor road works at Dorfor Adidome to Asikuma underway

Road works are ongoing between Dorfor Adidome and Asikuma in the Volta Region as part of the Eastern Corridor Road Project.

Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Member of Parliament for North Tongu, shared an update on the progress, noting that the stretch forms part of the government’s “Big Push” infrastructure programme.

“Ongoing road construction at Dorfor Adidome in my beloved constituency all the way to Asikuma as part of the Eastern Corridor project. We shall keep working for you. For God and Country,” he said.

The Eastern Corridor Road is a major north-south route designed to link the southern and northern parts of Ghana, providing an alternative to the Accra–Kumasi highway.

The project includes upgrading and paving key sections to improve travel time, safety, and trade movement.

The “Big Push” initiative is a government infrastructure programme focused on accelerating critical road projects across the country.

It targets strategic corridors and feeder roads to improve connectivity between regions, support agriculture and trade, and reduce transport costs.
