Professor Mohammed Muniru Iddrisu appointed Vice-Chancellor of UDS
The Governing Council of the University for Development Studies (UDS) has appointed Professor Mohammed Muniru Iddrisu as the new Vice-Chancellor of the institution.
The appointment was made at a council meeting held on Thursday, April 16.
The anouncement was made in a statement issued shortly after the meeting.
“The University Community is hereby informed that the Governing Council of the University for Development Studies (UDS)… has appointed Professor Mohammed Muniru Iddrisu as the Vice-Chancellor of the University,” the circular signed by the Registrar, read in part.
Professor Iddrisu currently serves as Principal of the Nyankpala Campus and is widely regarded for his leadership and administrative experience within the university.
According to the statement, he has also contributed significantly to teaching, research, and institutional growth over the years.
“Professor Iddrisu is an accomplished academic and experienced university administrator,” the statement noted.
The council expressed confidence in his ability to lead the university and advance its strategic goals.
The statement added that his tenure as Principal has seen improvements in academic programmes, staff development, and campus expansion.
The appointment takes effect from June 27, 2026, and will run until August 31, 2030.
