Former NPP Women's Organiser-USA, Barbara Asiedu Boafo, Enstooled Obaapanin of Beposo Ankaase

In a solemn and dignified traditional ceremony, Madam Barbara Asiedu Boafo has been enstooled as the Obaapanin of Beposo Ankaase in the Ashanti Region, assuming the revered stool name Obaapanin Akua Nyanta Oforiwaa

The colourful outdooring ceremony, held on March 30, 2026, was steeped in rich custom and ancestral heritage, drawing a distinguished gathering of traditional authorities, elders, opinion leaders, members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), as well as friends and well-wishers from the diaspora.

Obaapanin Akua Nyanta Oforiwaa, a respected figure and former NPP Women’s Organiser for the New York Chapter (2010–2018), also served as the party’s Women’s Organiser in the United States from 2018 to 2022.

Her elevation to the stool marks a continuation of dedicated service, now extended to the chieftaincy institution.

In her address, Obaapanin Akua Nyanta Oforiwaa expressed deep gratitude to the kingmakers and the Asona Royal Family for the confidence reposed in her.

She pledged to uphold the customs, traditions, and values of the land, and to discharge her duties with wisdom, humility, and integrity.

Describing her acceptance of the stool as a sacred call to duty, she affirmed her readiness to work in unity with the chiefs, elders, and people to promote peace, development, and the welfare of the community.

In a humble appeal, she called on the custodians of tradition to guide her path, offering correction where necessary and support in her quest to serve her people faithfully.

The ceremony was marked by traditional drumming, libation, and expressions of cultural pride, signifying a new chapter in the leadership of Beposo Ankaase.
