Sagnarigu MP honoured for driving human capital development
Atta Issah, Member of Parliament for Sagnarigu, has been honoured with the National Progress & Human Capital Catalyst Award at the Blackstar Acclamation Honorary Award Summit 2025/26.
The young legislator describes the recognition as a collective achievement rather than a personal milestone.
“Today, I am deeply humbled… This recognition is not just mine, but a testament to the collective efforts of ours,” he stated after receiving the award.
Hon. Issah, born on May 2, 1992, is among the younger members of Ghana’s 9th Parliament and has built a reputation as an economist and chartered accountant with a strong academic background, including studies at the University of Ghana and the University of Professional Studies, Accra. He rose to national prominence after winning the Sagnarigu parliamentary seat in the 2024 general elections with a decisive margin.
The summit, held under the theme “Rebuilding Trust, Restoring Hope: A New Era of Governance in Ghana,” celebrates leaders making impact in governance and human capital development.
In his remarks, the MP highlighted ongoing efforts in education, healthcare, and economic empowerment within his constituency. His initiatives include an education scholarship scheme aimed at supporting underprivileged students in Sagnarigu.
He emphasized that the award reinforces his belief that leadership is rooted in service, integrity, and creating opportunities for others.
Hon. Issah dedicated the honour to his constituents, colleagues, and development partners, pledging to continue championing policies that improve livelihoods and restore public trust.
“Together, we will keep striving for a Ghana where trust is restored, hope is renewed, and every citizen thrives,” he added.
The Sagnarigu MP also expressed appreciation for the continued support from the public, assuring that his commitment to development remains unwavering as he continues his parliamentary work.
