Hon. Robert Wisdom Cudjoe donates transformers to restore power in Prestea Huni Valley

The Municipal Chief Executive has confirmed the delivery of three power distribution transformers to support communities experiencing outages across the municipality.

The presentation took place on Wednesday, March 18, with the MCE joined by the area’s Member of Parliament. The transformers were handed over to the power distribution company at its Tarkwa and Bogoso operational offices.

Each transformer has a capacity of 200kVA and is expected to serve affected communities in Bogoso, Aboso, and Huni Valley, where damaged equipment has resulted in prolonged power interruptions.

Local authorities say installation will begin soon, with the intervention aimed at restoring stable electricity supply and easing the burden on residents and businesses affected by recent outages.

Hon. Ayeh commended the Member of Parliament for financing the transformers, describing the support as timely and critical given its direct impact on livelihoods within the municipality. He noted that the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to improving local conditions.

The development highlights persistent infrastructure challenges within the power distribution system and points to the growing role of political officeholders in addressing service delivery gaps at the local level.
