Savannah Region: Three arrested for alleged murder and causing harm at Gbiniyiri — Police
The Savannah Regional Police Command has arrested three individuals in connection with a violent incident at Gbiniyiri in the Savannah Region.
The arrests were made following a joint operation by the IP’s Special Intelligence Team and the regional police.
In a statement issued on Monday, March 16, the law enforcement agency said the suspects were arrested on Saturday, March 14.
During interrogation, the police said one suspect Yaw Bamuah admitted involvement in the attack and named several accomplices who are still at large.
“The attack was carried out in retaliation following the killing of a relative whom they believed had been attacked by robbers suspected to be Fulanis,” the police statement in part of the statement.
Police noted that it also recovered a single barrel shotgun with serial number BAT 2598-88 and two live AAA cartridges from a concealed spot at Bamuah’s house in Gbiniyiri.
“The suspects are in police custody assisting investigations and will be put before the court while efforts are intensified to arrest the remaining suspects connected to the incident,” the statement noted.
The other arrested suspects have been identified as Yaa Bokaa and Kuma Simpor.
According to the police, it is currently on a manhunt additional suspects, including Anuda Borour, Pobiye, Bitunor Sansa, and James Sanyuah.
