France Allows Use of Bases but Refuses to Join Iran Conflict

The escalating conflict between Iran and a coalition led by the United States and Israel has drawn international attention. Many countries have been pressured to take sides. France, however, has taken a cautious approach. While it has allowed limited use of its military bases by the United States, the French government has clearly stated that it will not directly participate in military attacks against Iran.

France’s Decision to Allow Base Access

France has permitted the temporary presence of U.S. aircraft at some of its military bases. This decision was made mainly to support defensive operations and protect regional allies in the Middle East. However, France placed strict conditions on this permission. The aircraft stationed at French bases must not be used to carry out offensive operations against Iran.

France Refuses to Join the Military Offensive
