One‑Week Observation for H.E. Dr. Charles Yaw Brempong Yeboah Set for Tomorrow, Feb. 25
The Royal Bretuo Families of Akyem Asamang Tamfoe and Asante Asamang have announced that the one‑week observation of the late H.E. Dr. Charles Yaw Brempong Yeboah will be held tomorrow, Wednesday, February 25, 2026.
Dr. Brempong Yeboah—distinguished statesman, scholar, diplomat, and former Member of Parliament for Atiwa—passed away on January 30, 2026, at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC). His decades of service included roles as Deputy Minister for Works and Housing, Labour and Manpower, and Foreign Affairs, as well as Ghana’s Ambassador to Japan.
In a solemn invitation, the Royal Bretuo Families described him as a man whose “legacy of honour and exemplary leadership will forever be remembered.”
The one‑week observation will take place at the Transitions Funeral Home Grounds, Haatso–Atomic Road, Accra, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The family says the gathering will offer an opportunity to reflect on the life of a leader whose impact touched generations.

The ceremony is expected to draw eminent traditional rulers, political leaders, and national figures. Chief mourners include:

Former Presidents John Agyekum Kufuor and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo‑Addo are expected to attend, alongside the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin; Majority and Minority Leadership; and former and current Members of Parliament.
Other notable attendees include former Chief of Staff Akosua Frema Osei‑Opare; former Vice President and 2028 NPP flagbearer Mahamudu Bawumia; and Abena Osei‑Asare, MP for Atiwa East. National and regional executives of the New Patriotic Party will also be present.
A Life of Service
Dr. Brempong Yeboah’s career spanned academia, Parliament, and the executive arm of government. He served as Rector of the University College of Agriculture and Environmental Studies (UCAES) and as a Senior Lecturer in Entomology at the University of Ghana, where he mentored generations of students and contributed to sustainable agricultural research.
Born on May 5, 1954, in Atiwa West, he was celebrated for his commitment to education, national development, and public service. His expertise in entomology informed practical agricultural interventions that benefitted communities across Ghana.
In Parliament, he represented the Atiwa West Constituency with distinction. His subsequent ministerial roles and diplomatic service in Japan further cemented his reputation as a patriotic servant of the state.
Family Tribute
In a heartfelt tribute, Abusuapanin Kwame Adu and Oberempong Nana Adu Bonsu Agyekum Prempeh described him as “a life of service and dedication,” noting that Ghana has lost not only a statesman but a compassionate leader whose influence extended far beyond politics.
They emphasized his integrity, humility, and devotion to family, colleagues, and country.
“His vision for a better Ghana, his relentless work to improve lives, and his deep belief in the potential of the Ghanaian people will always be remembered,” the family said.
They encouraged all who knew him to uphold the values he embodied and continue the work he championed.
