Fire Destroys Children’s Ward at Saboba Assemblies of God Hospital
A fire outbreak on Saturday, February 21, completely destroyed the children’s ward of the Saboba Assemblies of God Hospital.
According to the hospital’s Nurse Manager, George Olannba, the blaze began at the entrance of the ward before rapidly spreading through the facility.
The Ghana National Fire Service responded swiftly, but initial efforts to contain the fire were hampered by equipment challenges. Residents in the area joined the response, helping to prevent the flames from spreading to adjoining wards and eventually bringing the situation under control.
At the time of the incident, six children were on admission. Hospital staff, supported by relatives, managed to evacuate all of them safely. The children have since been relocated to the male ward for continued care.
