Fire ravages Sofoline Magazine in Kwadaso, hundreds of shops and workshops destroyed

A devastating fire has swept through Sofoline Magazine in the Kwadaso Municipality of the Ashanti Region, gutting hundreds of shops and mechanic workshops and leaving widespread destruction in its wake.

The blaze erupted around 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 25, 2026, rapidly consuming several structures at the busy commercial enclave.

Workshops, vehicles undergoing repairs, spare parts, equipment and other goods were completely destroyed as flames tore through the area.

Fire crews from the Ghana National Fire Service were quickly dispatched and managed to bring the inferno under control, successfully preventing it from spreading to nearby properties.

Although no casualties were recorded, the fire has plunged many shop owners and mechanics into distress, with victims counting heavy losses.

Authorities have launched investigations to determine the cause of the outbreak.
