Govt to launch 24-hour business registration centres, digital helpline — Trade Minister
The Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, has unveiled plans to establish round-the-clock business registration centres and a digital helpline to support enterprises under the government’s 24-hour economy agenda.
Speaking at the Government Accountability Series in Accra on Wednesday, January 21, the Minister explained that the initiative is designed to allow businesses to register at any hour and access guidance whenever needed, ensuring entrepreneurs and investors can operate seamlessly beyond standard working hours.
“The 24-hour business registration centres and digital helpline will make it easier for businesses to register and access support at any time of the day. This is vital as economic activity increasingly extends beyond traditional hours,” she said.
The digital helpline will operate continuously, providing real-time assistance to address business challenges promptly and improve service delivery.
Minister Ofosu-Adjare also announced that her Ministry has drafted key legislation, including the Consumer Protection Bill, the Competition Bill, and the Business Regulatory Reform Bills, all slated for consideration in 2026. She noted that these laws aim to strengthen consumer protection, foster fair competition, and create a more efficient regulatory environment to support business growth.
“These bills, together with our 24/7 registration centres and digital helpline, reflect our commitment to building an investor-friendly economy while protecting consumers and promoting fair competition,” she added.
