Five suspects arrested over assault on Kade SHTS teacher

Personnel from the Cyber Security Unit of the Ghana Police Service, with support from the Kade Police, have arrested five individuals in connection with the assault on Michael Quayson, a teacher at Kade Senior High Technical School in the Kwaebibirim Municipality.

The suspects were picked up on Monday, January 5, 2026, after reportedly travelling from Accra to Kade as investigations into the incident, which occurred last year, intensified.

The Eastern Regional Chairman of the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT), Awoonor Yevu Godwin, disclosed that the suspects are expected to be arraigned before the Kade Circuit Court this morning.

The Cyber Security Unit has been spearheading the investigations, underscoring the Ghana Police Service’s resolve to pursue justice in cases involving attacks on educators and to ensure those responsible are held accountable.

Meanwhile, the family of the victim has renewed calls for justice and adequate protection for teachers.
