No one has been able to prove any corruption against Bawumia — Kofi Bentil

A Senior Vice President of IMANI Africa, Kofi Bentil, has praised former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for his integrity and leadership.

The policy analyst highlighted the 2024 New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer’s exemplary conduct over two decades in Ghanaian politics.

In a social media post on Thursday, December 18, Bentil described Bawumia as a standout among aspirants in the upcoming New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer race, noting his incorruptibility and commitment to public service.

“This man, who has lived in our faces under daily scrutiny for 20 years, has conducted himself so well that no one can find a video of him inappropriately fighting or insulting anyone, or even losing his cool. No one has been able to prove any corruption against him,” Bentil said.

He commended Bawumia and his wife, Samira, for maintaining an exemplary public profile despite intense political pressures, describing them as a model couple whose conduct has earned admiration across party lines.

Bentil emphasized that unlike some political figures who compromise principles for personal gain, Bawumia has consistently upheld transparency and ethical leadership.

“Leaders must not be clearing agents but must let systems work even when their friends are involved. That is the kind we want and need,” he stated

The IMANI Vice President further argued that Dr. Bawumia’s religious tolerance and respect for all Ghanaians, regardless of faith, makes him a balanced and capable leader for the nation.

He called on citizens to appreciate the former Vice President’s integrity and continued service as a model of leadership that Ghana needs moving forward.
