GES condemns assault on teacher by student over strict 2025 WASSCE invigilation
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has condemned an attack on a teacher at Kade Senior High Technical School following by some past students of the school.
The incident, which occurred on 5 October 2025, involved the students confronting Mr. Michael Quayson allegedly over his strict supervision during the 2025 WASSCE Christian Religious Studies (CRS) paper.
The matter, according to GES, was initially not reported to school authorities or the Service until the video surfaced on social media.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, December 10, and signed by Head of Public Relations at GES, Daniel Fenyi, the service says it has since taken over the issue and begun investigations.
“Management condemns the assault in the strongest terms as such behaviour is unacceptable, unlawful, and a direct affront to the dignity of the teaching profession,” the Service stated.
The Service further assured that the perpetrators will not go unpunished.
“The students shall face the appropriate sanctions provided by law and GES regulations to ensure justice is duly served,” it noted.
Meanwhile, GES has encouraged teachers across the country to remain firm in enforcing discipline and protecting the integrity of examinations.
