The Dagbon Advocacy Network (DAN) warmly commends the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) and the Special Operations Team currently deployed in the Northern Region for their relentless combat against illicit drugs, criminal gangs, and individuals whose activities threaten the peace and stability of our communities.

Over the past weeks, the operations undertaken by the Special Operations Team have significantly boosted public confidence and restored hope in the ongoing fight against crime. Their swift interventions, intelligence-led operations, and visible presence have put fear in persons seeking to destabilize the peace of the region and have contributed greatly to safeguarding lives and property.

DAN extends profound appreciation to the team, led by ASP Alhaji Abdul Jalil Bawa, for their professionalism, courage, and unwavering commitment to duty. We acknowledge the exemplary leadership he has demonstrated and commend the team for carrying out their mandate independently, without fear, favour, or undue influence.

We also express our sincere gratitude to the IGP for his vision in establishing this Special Operations Team. This strategic initiative has proven to be timely and effective, especially in tackling the growing threats posed by drug trafficking, armed groups, and organized criminal networks within the region.

The Dagbon Advocacy Network calls for the sustainability and continuous strengthening of these operations to ensure long-term peace, security, and community trust.
