VP Prof Naana Opoku-Agyemang in Angola for 7th AU-EU Summit
Vice President of Ghana, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, has arrived in Angola to represent President John Dramani Mahama at the 7th African Union-European Union (AU-EU) Summit.
The summit is scheduled to begin today, Monday, November 24, and end on Tuesday, November 25, in Angola’s capital Luanda.
During the gathering, she is expected to engage with leaders on issues critical to Africa’s development.
According to a statement from the Vice President’s office and signed by her Press Secretary Ama Pratt, she will deliver Ghana’s national statement at the summit.
The statement is expected to highlight the country’s priorities in economic stability, job creation, food security, climate action, peace and security, and value-chain development.
A video shared on Prof Opoku-Agyemang’s official social media pages confirmed that she safely arrived in Angola on Sunday, November 23, ahead of the high-level discussions.
The summit brings together Heads of State and Government from both continents to reaffirm their shared commitment to multilateralism and joint action on common challenges.
