Mobile Money gents receive training to boost professionalism and operational efficiency
A capacity building workshop aimed at strengthening the skills and professionalism of Mobile Money Agents has been held in Accra.
The training covered key areas essential to modern mobile money operations. Topics included leadership and operational efficiency, fraud and robbery prevention, the role of banks and financial partners, financial security and retirement planning, improved record keeping, financial literacy and fulfilling tax obligations as responsible business operators.
Experts from the Ghana Police Service, the Bank of Ghana, Deloitte Ghana and Universal Merchant Bank facilitated the sessions, providing more than two hundred participating agents with practical tools to enhance their operations and build stronger, more resilient businesses.
The workshop, organised by the Mobile Money Advocacy Group Ghana, also saw the presentation of citations to the Chief Executive Officer of MobileMoney Ltd. and MTN Ghana in recognition of their support and commitment to the agent network.
Addressing the agents, the Chief Executive Officer of MobileMoney Ltd., Mr Shaibu Haruna, encouraged them to see themselves as Chief Efficiency Officers of their businesses. He urged them to uphold integrity, provide excellent service and use their roles to positively impact their communities.
He highlighted the crucial role Mobile Money Agents play in advancing digital financial inclusion, noting that they serve as community leaders and trusted custodians of customer funds. He stressed that effective leadership requires a blend of vision, customer focus, integrity, collaboration and continuous learning to sustain and grow their businesses.
