Kwahu Queen Mother alleges orchestrated abduction by destooled chief
The Queen Mother of the Kwahu Traditional Council, Nana Adwoa Gyemfua III, has provided a detailed account of her alleged abduction during a dawn raid at the Kwahu Palace on Monday, November 17, 2025, claiming that the act was orchestrated by the destooled chief, Eugene Kwasi Boadi Asante, formerly Daasebre Akuamoah Agyepong II.
Speaking to journalists after her release on Tuesday, November 18, the Queen Mother described how she and her driver were confronted by individuals she believes were acting under the former chief’s instructions. “He and his driver attempted to collect our car, but we refused. I knew Boadi was involved,” she stated.
She recounted how the confrontation escalated. “Kwasi Boadi’s driver wanted to take the car keys from me, but I refused. So they deflated the tyres of the vehicle to prevent us from moving out. They ransacked the vehicle, and I still don’t understand why,” she said.
Nana Adwoa Gyemfua III added that she requested access to the palace to retrieve her medication and personal belongings, but her request was denied. “When we got to the palace junction, they told me they were calling the police officer who led the team for me to speak with because I needed to access the palace to take my drugs and keys, but he declined my request,” she explained.
She also revealed that efforts to seek help from another traditional authority were blocked. “I called Nana Achemfour to narrate the incident to him, but the officers still did not allow me to go for my keys,” she said.
During her detention, Nana Adwoa Gyemfua III disclosed that she was unable to access clean clothing until her family intervened, highlighting the difficult conditions she endured during the ordeal.
