Sunyanimanhene enstools, elevates new sub-chiefs
The Sunyanimanhene, Odeefour Ogyeamansan Boahen KorKor II, has enstooled and elevated several sub-chiefs within the Sunyani Traditional Area, strengthening the traditional leadership structure and reaffirming the rich cultural heritage of the region.
The colourful ceremony, held at the Nana Bosomah Asor Nkrawi II Royal Palace, drew a large gathering of divisional and sub-chiefs, queen mothers, elders, and members of the Sunyani Traditional Area, who attended to witness the historic installations.
During the event, the following chiefs received honours:
- Nana Osei Kyeretwie Duako, Adomakohene — Elevated to Dompemhene of the Sunyani Traditional Area.
- Nana Addai Munumkum Korang, Sunyanitifihene — Elevated to Werempemhene of the Sunyani Traditional Area.
- Nana Atta Kofi Amponsah — Enstooled as Mponuahene of the Sunyani Traditional Area.
- Nana Antwi Fosu Gyamekoduru II — Enstooled as Asokwahene of the Sunyani Traditional Area.
- Nana Yaw Anim Brew — Installed as Omanhene Ntakrahene.
In his address, Odeefour Ogyeamansan Boahen KorKor II reminded the newly elevated and enstooled chiefs of their sacred duty to uphold integrity, humility, and respect for tradition.
He tasked them to prioritize cleanliness, environmental stewardship, and community development in their respective areas.
The Sunyanimanhene also issued a stern warning against the indiscriminate sale of lands and participation in illegal mining (galamsey), urging the chiefs to help safeguard the natural resources and river bodies within the Sunyani Traditional Area.
