'Sulley Muntari not arrested in Dubai' — Manager refutes reports
Sammy Anim Addo, the manager and representative of former Black Stars striker Asamoah Gyan, has dismissed reports claiming that ex-Black Stars midfielder Sulley Muntari has been arrested in Dubai.
The clarification follows viral reports alleging that the former AC Milan and Inter Milan player had been detained in the United Arab Emirates.
In a statement released on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, via his verified X (formerly Twitter) account, Anim Addo confirmed that Muntari is safe and currently residing in Dubai, where he is focused on personal and business activities.
He described the arrest reports as entirely false and urged the public to disregard them. He further called on media outlets that circulated the misinformation to retract their publications and issue a formal apology.
Anim Addo warned that failure to comply would compel Muntari’s legal team to take appropriate legal action against those responsible for the false claims.
