Today, we stand at a crossroads—where ceremonial dignity must meet institutional accountability, and where every citizen, regardless of rank, must answer to the same moral and legal standard.

The recent allegations against Deputy Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin—accused of assaulting a police officer—were swiftly dismissed after video evidence reportedly contradicted the claims. While the truth may have prevailed in this instance, it raises a sobering question: What if there had been no footage? What if the narrative had rested solely on status, influence, or fear?
