Why Hon. Kennedy Agyapong's Wild Allegations And Threats Must Be Sanctioned By The Leadership Of The Party
I have heard one of the Flagbearer Hopefuls, as usual, about him issuing "empty" threats not to accept the results once he gets zeros from any Constituency.
It's not surprising, but it seems to be becoming a cliché and one of his campaign tools to cause fear and panic within the NPP.
Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, in an interview on one of the Radio stations in Yendi, opined that he will not accept the results once he records zeros in any Constituency in the North.
As I stated earlier, it has become a constant norm for him to express his uneasiness before the Flagbearer elections are conducted.
Before the last Flagbearer race, he acted with the same posture of issuing threats to every Party member until he was defeated.
In fact, this attitude of speaking "haphazardly" without regard to the laid-down rules and conduct of the elections is sickening and a lack of respect.
To state emphatically, the NPP is bigger than any individual and the contributions of everyone are paramount to its success.
Therefore, no individual should be allowed to take the Party to ransom all in a desperate move to lead with baseless accusations.
Under normal circumstances, all the Flagbearer Hopefuls in the last primary, including him, had a representative during the conduct of the elections.
Given the above, it defies logic for any Flagbearer Hopeful to make wild allegations without any hardcore evidence to substantiate their claims.
In any case, which Constituency did Hon. Kennedy Agyapong receive zero in the North in while the results were different from what was given to him?
Fast forward, if it's anything to go by, as alleged, it's an insult to the caliber of people Hon. Kennedy Agyapong chose as his representatives in the last Flagbearer race.
Importantly, these kinds of threats Hon. Kennedy Agyapong hinted he will do the same in the South are a clear indication of causing disruption within the NPP.
Instructively, the leadership of the Party must call him to order and furnish them with evidence to substantiate his claims to bring finality to this issue of threats.
The NPP, as a democratic Party, can't continue on this tangent of allowing some individuals to speak anyhow without evidence.
Honestly, this is a deliberate attempt by Hon. Kennedy Agyapong to incite and prepare the minds of his followers not to accept the results in the impending Presidential primary.
Absolutely, we can't build a formidable front with all these kinds of mindsets that create fear and panic in the minds of Party patriots.
With the greatest of respect, Hon Kennedy Agyapong should be reminded that we are engaged in an internal Party contest and some of these continuous issuing of threats undermines the beauty of our democracy.
In conclusion, we need each other at the end of this contest, and as Party faithful, we look forward to an incident-free and fair conduct of the elections as it was done in the last primary.
At this juncture, the leadership of the Party must call Hon. Kennedy Agyapong to order or furnish them with hardcore evidence moving forward.
Shalom!
Long live NPP!
