Police engages Muslim communities at Sampa to promote peace and order

The Bono Regional Police Command, led by Deputy Regional Commander ACP Andrews George Kumah, has held an engagement with the Muslim community in Sampa to promote peace, unity, and collaboration between the Police and the public.

The visit, which took place at various mosques, formed part of the Command’s strategy to build trust, strengthen intelligence gathering, and foster peaceful coexistence among different groups in the area.

Addressing the congregants, ACP Kumah urged residents to uphold peace and order to ensure that schools, banks, markets, and businesses operate without fear or disruption. He encouraged the public to see Police officers not as adversaries but as partners in maintaining law and order, urging them to share credible information that could enhance security in the community.

In a statement signed by Chief Inspector Thomas Akeelah, Public Relations Officer of the Bono Regional Police Command, the Police cautioned Muslim youth against possessing weapons, warning that anyone found with one would be arrested. He further advised religious leaders to relay this message to members who were absent during the Friday prayers.

The Chief Imam of Sampa, Alhaji Seidu Adams, expressed appreciation to the Police for their outreach and appealed for regular engagements until lasting peace and stability are fully restored in the area.

The initiative underscores the Police Command’s commitment to ensuring public safety, harmony, and effective community policing in Sampa.
