‘If you go with God, you’ll succeed’ — Methodist Presiding Bishop to national leaders
The Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church Ghana, Most Rev. Prof. J. Kwabena Asamoah-Gyadu, has urged national leaders to lead with godly principles.
He said when leaders allow the presence of God to guide their decisions and actions, they are more likely to succeed and leave lasting legacies that uplift their people and nation.
Most Rev. Asamoah-Gyadu made the call at the induction of the 6th Bishop of the Tema Diocese of the Methodist Church Ghana, where he drew lessons from the story of Moses and Aaron in the book of Exodus.
“Human advisers are important, but you must seek to work in the will of God. I think that goes for all leaders, whether in business, in politics, or wherever you find yourself, if you go with God, you will succeed,” he said.
He cautioned leaders against relying solely on their strength or human wisdom, noting that history has shown that power and intellect alone cannot guarantee success.
The Presiding Bishop further reminded the newly inducted Bishop to let the presence of God lead him in his ministry and service to the people, emphasizing that divine guidance is the foundation of true leadership.
“The arm of flesh will fail,” he said. “If the new Bishop and, indeed, all leaders will let the presence of God dwell among them in whatever they do, they will surely prosper.”
