The subscription fee is GH¢ 0.5. To unsubscribe send Unsub DBD to 950. Thank you.” End of quote. Amazing.
Nowhere in the world would such forced unsolicited subscriptions be permitted by regulators respected by registered telecommunications companies using a public good, allocated radio frequencies, to scam and con innocent law-abiding citizens so egregiously, ooooo, Ghanafuor. That begs the question: why are telecommunications sector's industry regulatory bodies - in a nation whose bankrupted national economy is being reset by a government given the mandate to do so, with a landslide election victory that returned the current ruling party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), to power in the pivotal 2024 election cycle - allowing telecommunications companies in Ghana look on, while super-ruthless and wily cyber-criminals use their platforms to fleece law-abiding subscribers so, and with such impunity?
