“I’m 19, not 13” — KNUST SHS student in viral assistant head teacher fondling video breaks silence
The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Senior High School student at the centre of a viral scandal involving the school’s assistant headmaster has spoken out, refuting widespread claims about her age.
In an interview with Adom News, the young woman insisted she is legally an adult. “Just tell them I am 19 years old; I was born on July 21, 2006. I’m not 13 years old,” she declared.
Her clarification directly contradicts earlier reports and a statement from the Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection, which claimed she was only 13 years old.
The ministry has since demanded the immediate arrest of the assistant headmaster, Charles Akwasi Aidoo, who was captured in a compromising situation with the student.
The Ghana Education Service (GES) moved swiftly on Monday to interdict Mr. Aidoo, pending investigations into the matter.
