Reconstituted STU Governing Council undergoes orientation session
Members of the reconstituted Governing Council of Sunyani Technical University (STU) have participated in a one-day orientation session in Sunyani.
The session aimed to familiarize them with their core responsibilities and strengthen their capacity to effectively contribute to the university’s governance.
In his welcome address, the Chairman of the Council, Prof. Samuel Awuah-Nyamekye, alongside the Vice-Chancellor, Ing. Prof. Kwadwo Adinkrah-Appiah urged members to engage fully with the training and apply the insights gained to enhance their work.
The orientation was led by Mr. Paul Effah, former Executive Secretary of the National Council for Tertiary Education and current President of Radford University College, East Legon, Accra.
Drawing on his extensive experience, including his role as founding Registrar of the University for Development Studies in Tamale, Mr. Effah highlighted the importance of harnessing the diverse expertise of Council members to transform individuals into valuable human resources.
He advocated for the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to streamline operations within the university and stressed the need for unity and collaboration among Council members to support institutional growth.
Mr. Effah also reminded the members that their words and actions should reflect a deep commitment to the university’s development, emphasizing the importance of integrity, accountability, and shared vision in their roles.
