She Joins IFLA Governing Board
Mrs Helena Asamoah-Hassan, Chief Librarian of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, has been elected onto the Governing Board of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) with its headquarters in The Hague, Netherlands.
The IFLA is the world body and voice for libraries and librarians.
She is the first West African to attain this position and the fourth from Africa.
Before rising to this position, she was the chairperson of the Africa section of IFLA from 2005 -2007 and the president of the Ghana Library Association from 2003-2006.
