Dormaa East marks “My First Day at School” with warm welcome for pupils
The Dormaa East District on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, successfully observed “My First Day at School,” an initiative by the Ghana Education Service to welcome children beginning their basic education and to instill in them the value of learning from the very start.
The District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Osei Owusu King, together with key stakeholders, visited several schools to interact with pupils and distribute biscuits and drinks. Schools visited included Wamfie Presbyterian Primary (A), Wamanafo Saint James Primary School, Kyeremasu (DA) Primary School, Asuotiano Roman Catholic Primary (A and B), and Nsresresu Primary and KG.
As part of the celebration, an envelope and assorted drinks were presented to the Education Directorate on behalf of the schools and teachers. Receiving the items, the District Director of Education, Mr. Philip Adom Danso, reaffirmed the directorate’s commitment to delivering quality education and nurturing the moral development of pupils. He later accompanied the DCE and his team during the school visits.
At each stop, Hon. Osei Owusu King warmly welcomed the new pupils and commended teachers for their dedication. He assured them of his office’s openness to dialogue on ways to improve education in the district. Addressing the children, he advised them to avoid laziness and disobedience, urging them instead to focus on their studies and adopt healthy lifeclasss for a brighter future.
